FDH Bank has given K5 million to the Higher Education Students Loans and Grants Board (HESLGB) to cater for operations of the board. Speaking in Lilongwe on Friday, FDH Bank head of marketing and communication Levie Nkunika said paying school fees for needy students is one of the bank's corporate social responsibilities.
"Most of FDH Bank senior officials could have not been able to complete tertiary education had it not been for government loans then," he said. HESLGB chief executive officer Chris Chisoni thanked FDH Bank for the donation. He said the money will be used for the organisation of the Association of Higher Education Financiers Conference for Africa, which will attract delegates from 20 countries this month.
