FDH Bank is breaking all barriers in transactions in the banking sector.
In 2016, the bank revolutionarised digital banking in Malawi and has been positioning itself as a digital bank ever since.
Its flagship mobile application, FDH Mobile’s menu started with only access to transfers, balance enquiry, airtime purchases, mobile wallet (money sent to any phone number) and cardless withdrawals.
Currently the bank is still introducing the most innovative and competitive digital products that stand out not only in the country, but beyond.
Now FDH Bank boasts additional array of top of the mark digital products, Smart Pay (mobile payments), Banki Pakhomo (agency banking) and Ufulu Digital Account (a bank account opened using any phone number) as well as bill payment platforms.
FDH Bank, one of the commercial bank licensed by the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) has launched Kutcheza Makwacha promotion in its pursuit to promote savings culture among people during the festive season.
Speaking during the launch, Head of Personal and Business Banking, Kawawa Nsapato said the promotion will ensure that customers are prepared for emergencies and other unforeseen circumstances that emerge during the festive season.
“We want to prepare our customers for this coming festive season. For people who are involved in agricultural activities, we know that very soon they will need to buy farm inputs, others they will have to pay school fees you know what happens in January and others will need to take a holiday in December so there is no better time to introduce the promotion than now,” he said.
FDH Bank on Monday partnered African Guarantee Fund (AGF) to boost small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in a deal worth about $3 million (about K2.25 billion).
AGF is a pan-African guarantee provider established by a number of African governments and operates in 38 countries with more than 100 partner financial institutions.
Speaking at the signing ceremony in Lilongwe, FDH Bank managing director Eric Ouattara said the partnership will unlock financing and accelerate growth of SMEs.
The partnership has come against the backdrop of challenges SMEs face to access finance to grow their businesses.
FDH Bank has sponsored the Professional Golfers Association of Malawi at a tune of K7 180. 000 ($10 000).
The sponsorship is towards The Warm Heart Pros Tour 2018 that will take place this November at Lilongwe Golf Club.

FDH Bank has donated K2.5 million to the second Wealth Creation Forum which will be held in at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.
Wealth Magazine Managing Executive Harry Chima who is organising the forum thanked FDH Bank for the donation.

One of the leading banks, FDH has given out tickets to this year’s Lake of Stars (LoS) festival which kicks off on Friday to Sunday at Kambumba Hotel in Salima to 10 winners in a promotion aimed at creating hype for the festival.

FDH Financial Holdings Limited Chief Executive Officer Dr Thomson Mpinganjira has become the first Malawian entrepreneur to be nominated in two continental prestigious business awards.
Mpinganjira is Southern Africa finalist in the Business Leader of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year Categories, a first feat ever done by a Malawian.
The team of judges led by Sam Bhembe, CNBC Africa Non-Executive Director, evaluated hundreds of applications, narrowing them down to the finalists using stringent criteria.
The Southern Africa finalists for the 2018 8th annual All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA™) were announced on September 20 2018 at the regional gala dinner function hosted in Rosebank, Johannesburg.
FDH Bank has given K5 million to the Higher Education Students Loans and Grants Board (HESLGB) to cater for operations of the board. Speaking in Lilongwe on Friday, FDH Bank head of marketing and communication Levie Nkunika said paying school fees for needy students is one of the bank's corporate social responsibilities.
"Most of FDH Bank senior officials could have not been able to complete tertiary education had it not been for government loans then," he said. HESLGB chief executive officer Chris Chisoni thanked FDH Bank for the donation. He said the money will be used for the organisation of the Association of Higher Education Financiers Conference for Africa, which will attract delegates from 20 countries this month.
FDH Bank has launched an online platform dubbed One Click which seeks to provide convenience to customers sending money to multiple accounts at once.
The bank also unveiled a corporate suite for their corporate customers situated at Umodzi Park in Lilongwe.
FDH Bank Managing Director, Eric Ouattara, said One Click is an electronic bulk payment system designed to allow customers access to payment solutions that make payment to multiple beneficiaries possible.
