FDH Awards Mayor's Trophy Winners

FDH Bank recently handed over cash prizes worth over K2.3 million to winning schools in the Blantyre Mayor’s Trophy.

FDH Deputy Managing Director, William Mpinganjira, said the bank took pleasure in sponsoring the Mayor’s Trophy as a way of applauding the initiative taken by Blantyre City Assembly to champion the growth of youth in the country.

“We at FDH Bank are committed to growth from inception, and we were not only pleased but honored to be part of this initiative.” Mpinganira said.

FDH Bank partnered with Blantyre City Council and sponsored the competition at a tune of K4.9 million that catered for the part of the semifinals kits, the finals kits as well as the cash awards.

“We are impressed with the conduct of the pupils during the competition and we pledge to continue supporting the initiative,” Mpinganjira remarked

Mbayani Primary School emerged as winners in the netball finals and walked away with the first place prize of K500 000. Nkolokoti Primary School were the football finals winner and earned themselves a first place K700 000 cash prize.

In netball, Nkolokoti Prmary School in second place went away with K350 000 while Chimaliro Primary School went away with K200 000 in third place. The runners-up in the football finals, Namame Primary School went away with K450 000 while Makata Primary School in third place went away with K350 000.

Blantyre City Mayor, Wild Ndipo who was franked by his Deputy, Joseph Makwinja during the finals said he was happy with the talent the competition continues to produce.
